DUNKIN’ DONUTS ANNOUNCES $100,000 DONATION TO THREE CENTRAL NEW YORK NONPROFITS

DONATION

SYRACUSE, NY Dunkin’ Donuts today celebrated the success of three charitable campaigns this spring and summer by announcing a total donation of $100,000 to Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital, the Syracuse Muscular Dystrophy Association, and Special Olympics New York – Central Region and Southern Tier.

The donation is the result of Dunkin’ Donuts’ Iced Coffee Day in May to benefit Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital; the “Make a Muscle, Make a Difference” paper icon program in July to benefit the Syracuse Muscular Dystrophy Association; and the “Cops on Top” campaign with local law enforcement, also in July, to benefit Special Olympics New York – Central Region and Southern Tier.

“Dunkin’ Donuts is honored to support these three Central New York nonprofits, which work tirelessly to make an impact on the lives of local residents,” said Eric Stensland, field marketing manager for Dunkin’ Donuts. “We’re thrilled to work in partnership with our guests to help make a difference in the communities we serve.

Dunkin’ Donuts celebrated “Iced Coffee Day” by pledging to donate $1.00 from every Iced Coffee sold on May 20 at participating restaurants in Central New York to Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital. The initiative raised more than $27,000.

“The children and families cared for at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital are so very grateful for the support provided by Dunkin’ Donuts for the fourth year in a row on Iced Coffee Day,” said Toni Gary, Director of Community Relations & Development for Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.

From July 6 through July 14, guests who contributed $1 to the Syracuse Muscular Dystrophy Association at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Central New York received a paper donut icon bearing the MDA logo which could be displayed with the guest’s name on the wall of the restaurant. The campaign generated more than $30,000.

“The generosity of Dunkin’ Donuts and its guests allows us to provide life-enhancing services and programs to thousands of individuals affected by neuromuscular diseases,” said Jessica Kawecki, Director of Business Development for Syracuse MDA.

On July 17, Central New York law enforcement officers took to the roofs of 39 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics New York – Central Region and Southern Tier. The initiative generated more than $42,000.

“We are thrilled to partner with Dunkin’ Donuts for the fourth consecutive year and we’re proud to announce this year’s campaign will sponsor 142 Special Olympics New York athletes,” said Cassandra Rucker, Director of Development for Special Olympics New York – Central Region and Southern Tier.
