Local law enforcement to orchestrate rooftop sit-in to raise awareness for
Special Olympics NY athletes
SYRACUSE, NY; – Dunkin’ announced today it will support the annual “Cops on Top” event to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics New York.
On Friday, August 2, local law enforcement officials will stand on the rooftop of participating Dunkin’ restaurants in Central New York while Special Olympics New York athletes collect donations at each location to help support the cost of their athletic training and future competitions.
Community members are invited to visit the participating Dunkin’ restaurants to support the officers, visit with athletes and their families, and make donations to Special Olympics New York. Dunkin’ will offer guests a coupon for a free doughnut as a thank you when guests make a monetary donation to the organization.
“Dunkin’ is honored to support the vital efforts and programs of Special Olympics New York which enhance the lives of both children and adults with intellectual disabilities,” said Dunkin’ Integrated Marketing Manager Eric Stensland. “We’re thrilled to partner with our network of generous guests to support this wonderful organization. We encourage all of our guests in Central New York to show their support for local law enforcement and our Special Olympics New York athletes.”

All contributions generated from the campaign will support Special Olympics New York programs for Central New York families. The “Cops on Top” initiative has generated more than $332,000 since its inception in 2012.
