South Burlington, Vt. – Hannaford Supermarkets today announced that all grand opening celebration activities at its new Shelburne Road store, including gift card giveaways and sampling, will be postponed and will not occur this Saturday. The postponement is in line with public health officials’ recommendations about public gatherings during the coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis.
The store, located at 935 Shelburne Road in South Burlington, will open on Saturday, March 21 to serve the community’s need for food and medicine. As with all Hannaford stores, purchase limits are in place for certain products due to increased demand.
Hannaford will operate 17 supermarkets in Vermont with the opening of its Shelburne Road location. Every Hannaford store donates rescued food to local hunger relief, and regularly supports local charities and schools.
