Popular coffeehouse located in storefront formerly leased by Bruegger’s Bagels
GUILDERLAND, N.Y. – Stuyvesant Plaza today welcomed Uncommon Grounds to the area’s premier outdoor lifestyle shopping center. With the opening of its fourth community café, Uncommon Grounds celebrates 30 years as one of the Capital Region’s foremost purveyors of fresh-roasted specialty coffee.
The coffeehouse will offer a menu of signature beverages, homemade bagels, soups, salads and desserts. Approximately 20 full- and part-time employees will staff the shop. Uncommon Grounds is actively hiring bakers, prep workers and baristas.
“We’re very excited to unveil our newest location in Albany,” said Uncommon Grounds Manager Danielle Wales. “Stuyvesant Plaza is a one-of-a-kind location and we can’t wait to welcome Plaza shoppers and tenants for a meal or a hot cup of coffee. We look forward to continuing to grow our business there.”
“Uncommon Grounds is a Capital Region favorite, and we’re happy to welcome them to Stuyvesant Plaza,” said Stuyvesant Plaza General Manager Rachel Ferluge. “The Plaza features many distinctive shops and restaurants, and Uncommon Grounds is a great addition. We’re thrilled our shoppers and tenants will now be able to enjoy their delicious coffee varieties, gourmet desserts and wholesome snacks and meals as part of the Plaza shopping experience.”
Uncommon Grounds first opened in 1992 in downtown Saratoga Springs, with the mission to procure high quality coffee beans from reliable sources committed to ethical and sustainable practices. In 1996, the café began serving fresh New York City-inspired bagels and cream cheese prepared from scratch daily. The brand freshly roasts all of its coffee in-house and strives to serve its small-batch products in a welcoming environment, with each coffeehouse acting as a community hub.
Stuyvesant Plaza will be home to Uncommon Grounds’ fourth restaurant in the area. Other locations include 1235 Western Avenue in Albany; 9 Clifton Country Road in Clifton Park; and 402 Broadway in Saratoga Springs.
Uncommon Grounds joins the numerous restaurants and eateries at Stuyvesant Plaza, including Bellini’s Counter, Bountiful Bread, Peaches Café and others. It is sited where Bruegger’s Bagels was previously located, adjacent to CVS Pharmacy.
