Donated non-perishable food items will benefit Hope 7 Community Center food pantry
WYNANTSKILL, N.Y. – As a continuation of the partnership established at the recent grand reopening celebration of Dunkin’ at 69 Main Avenue in Wynantskill, the local restaurant will host a special one-day food drive for the Hope 7 Community Center food pantry from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8. The first 50 guests to donate a non-perishable food item will receive a $5 Dunkin’ gift card.
Dunkin’ franchisee Ivo Garcia previously donated $3,000 to the Hope 7 Community Center for its food pantry in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation to commemorate the official reopening of the remodeled Wynantskill location on June 22. The food drive event is an extension of that initiative.
“We are only too happy to do what we can to take our donation a step further by asking our wonderful guests to participate in this food drive,” Garcia said. “The rising cost of food is a hardship for many of our neighbors. Food pantries like Hope 7 are bridging the gap for many in our community.”
Hope 7 Community Center has identified the food pantry’s most needed non-perishable items to be soup, tuna, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, canned fruits and vegetables, kids’ cereal and applesauce. All donated items must be in unopened original packaging with freshness dates that have not expired.
“We are truly grateful to our local Dunkin’ in Wynantskill and the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation for their generous grant and continued support with this one-day food drive,” said Hope 7 Community Food Pantry Coordinator Sherri Capparello. “Caring partnerships like these through Dunkin’ and local franchisee Ivo Garcia help us feed families in need.”
