Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’s newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 568 West 235th Street in Riverdale on Tuesday, July 16 as part of its grand reopening ceremony.
Dunkin’ franchisee Bret Lowery of the Dunkin’ franchise network BMD Management commemorated the occasion with a $3,000 donation to The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore is a premier academic children’s hospital, nationally renowned for its specialized healthcare serving 9,000 infants, children and adolescents with complex medical and surgical conditions yearly.
“Partnering with the Dunkin Joy in Childhood Foundation has been meaningful to many young patients at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore,” said Kathleen Kearns, senior vice president, development and chief philanthropy officer at Montefiore Einstein. “Their support helps bring simple joys of childhood to kids and families from diverse backgrounds in the Bronx.”
The celebration also included New York City Council Member Eric Dinowitz and New York State Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, who joined Dunkin’ representatives for a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The morning featured the first 100 guests in line at 9 a.m. receiving one free medium hot or iced coffee for 100 consecutive days on the Dunkin’ Rewards App as part of Dunkin’s Free Coffee for 100 Days giveaway, while many other Dunkin’ Rewards members spun the Dunkin’ prize wheel for free Dunkin’ merchandise.
The 900 square-foot newly remodeled Dunkin’ employs 15 crew members and is open seven days a week.
