Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’s newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 351 Grand Street in Manhattan’s Lower East Side on September 10 as part of its grand reopening.
Dunkin’ franchisee Vijay Ahuja commemorated the grand reopening with a $3,000 donation to No Kid Hungry New York in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. No Kid Hungry New York partners with schools, community-based organizations and government agencies to launch and enhance programs that provide healthy meals and expand access to nutritious food.
“Share Our Strength and the No Kid Hungry New York campaign are extremely grateful for this donation from Vijay Ahuja and the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation in support of our work to end childhood hunger,” said No Kid Hungry New York Director of Development Amanda Donikowski. “As a result of the support we have received, we will be able to make sure that all kids in New York City have access to three meals per day, every day.”
The celebration also included representatives on behalf of New York State Assemblywoman Grace Lee, who took part in a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The morning featured the first 100 guests in line at 9 a.m. receiving a coupon book containing four free medium hot or iced coffee coupons per month for 14 months as part of Dunkin’s Free Coffee for a Year giveaway, while many other Dunkin’ Rewards members spun the Dunkin’ prize wheel for free Dunkin’ merchandise. Additionally, all customers received a free classic donut during the grand reopening.
The 800-square-foot Dunkin’ employs 10 crew members and is open daily from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
