Alpin Haus unveils High Adventure by Alpin Haus alongside launch of annual Ski-toberfest Sale

Alpin Haus, one of the Northeast’s largest outdoor recreation retailers with seven stores in the Capital Region, Hudson Valley and Northern New Jersey, today commemorated the grand opening of High Adventure by Alpin Haus with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local dignitaries, store leadership and representatives from the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce and Colonie Chamber of Commerce.

The event coincided with the kickoff of Alpin Haus’ annual Ski-toberfest winter ski equipment and apparel sale at their locations in Amsterdam, Clifton Park and Latham.

Located at 1054 Troy-Schenectady Road in Latham, High Adventure Ski Shop was acquired in August from Diana and Darrell Karl, who owned and operated the popular store for more than three decades. The husband-and-wife team and their staff have remained on site following the acquisition to continue to serve their customers.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the grand opening of High Adventure by Alpin Haus and to officially welcome Diana and Darrell to the Alpin Haus family,” said Alpin Haus President Andy Heck. “With the addition of this third centrally located ski shop in the Capital Region, we hope to make it even easier and more convenient for ski enthusiasts to enjoy their time on the slopes.”

The ribbon-cutting ceremony coincided with the Alpin Haus’ annual Ski-toberfest sale taking place at all three Alpin Haus locations. Now through Saturday, Oct. 19, guests can enjoy deals on ski apparel and gear, and kids and adults can be fitted for their seasonal rentals. There will also be free food, drinks, games and prizes.

Currently celebrating its 60th anniversary, Alpin Haus last year unveiled a large-scale addition to its 1964 flagship store in Amsterdam, expanding its ski and pool departments by as much as 60 percent. Alpin Haus Ski & Pools Shop at Clifton Park Center will soon celebrate its 15th year in business serving winter and recreational enthusiasts in southern Saratoga County.
