Stuyvesant Plaza, the Capital Region’s premiere open-air shopping and dining destination, today announced the impending arrival of two signature apparel designers: Athleta, an environmentally conscious women’s and girls’ athletic-wear shop, and vineyard vines, an American clothing and accessory retailer.
The two highly acclaimed brands are expected to open at Stuyvesant Plaza after the start of the New Year.
Athleta will reside on the north side of the Plaza beside White House Black Market and adjacent to The Lawn, a multi-purpose green space unveiled earlier this year. Founded in 1998, Athleta creates premium performance apparel designed by female athletes to inspire a community of active women and girls. It is their mission to empower girls and women with confidence, strength and a sense of belonging. Inventory includes shirts, tops, bottoms, athletic pants, yoga apparel, sweatshirts, hoodies and more.
Co-founded more than 25 years ago on Martha’s Vineyard by siblings Shep and Ian Murray, vineyard vines has a local connection to the Capital Region. After Shep graduated in 1993 from nearby Skidmore College, the brothers initially worked in various corporate settings before launching their own retail line of clothing designed to reflect the free-spirited lifestyle of Martha’s Vineyard. vineyard vines’ features a variety of apparel and accessories for men, women, and kids, including performance wear, comfortable layers, swimwear and accessories. vineyard vines will reside on the north side of the Plaza.

Athleta and vineyard vines will join two previously announced additions to Stuyvesant Plaza in the coming months: Simone’s Kitchen, a local, fast-casual, modern Mediterranean restaurant, and Union Hall Supply Co., a local men’s boutique clothing retailer.
