Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins restaurant in Queens commemorates grand reopening with donation to Jamaica Family Wellness Center

Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin and Baskin-Robbins’ newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 187-11 Jamaica Avenue in Jamaica on Wednesday, December 4 as part of its grand reopening ceremony.

Dunkin’ franchisee Jamaica Donuts commemorated the occasion with a $1,500 donation to the Jamaica Family Wellness Center. The Jamaica Family Wellness Center is part of the Child Center of New York network, which provides therapy and support to children, adolescents, families, and adults who are struggling with a range of emotional and social difficulties. The center helps families and children in the Jamaica community build resilience, develop social-emotional skills, work through trauma, improve self-esteem, succeed in school and at work, thrive in life, and develop coping skills that will help them handle challenges now and in the future.

“I am honored to receive this generous donation from Jamaica Donuts and Dunkin’ on behalf of The Child Center of NY,” said Jamaica Family Wellness Center’s Child Center of NY Program Director Omar Kazi. “We are a community-based organization with an extensive behavioral health program as well as a range of support services. Our mission is to strengthen children and families in underserved communities with skills, opportunities, and emotional support to build healthy, successful lives. This donation from Dunkin’ will directly benefit the same community this location will serve during the upcoming holiday season.”

Members of the New York Police Department’s Queens South Community Affairs Section, 103 also joined the celebration and participated in a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The morning featured the first 100 Dunkin’ Rewards members in line at 9 a.m. receiving one free medium hot or iced coffee for 100 consecutive days on the Dunkin’ App, while many other Rewards members spun the Dunkin’ prize wheel for free Dunkin’ merchandise.

The newly remodeled, 1,606 square-foot Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins employs 15 crew members and is open daily from 5 a.m. until 10:30 p.m.
