Cardona’s Market goes “Mad in March” with St. Patrick’s Day and NCAA Basketball Tournament Catering Packages

Cardona’s Market – the family-owned specialty foods market and catering company serving the Capital Region since 1945 – is going “Mad in March” with several exciting catering offerings during the month of March.

Customers can celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and cheer on their favorite squads in the upcoming college basketball tournament by feasting on a variety of Cardona’s tasty catering options.

“Cardona’s is excited to help customers celebrate two momentous March events with delicious catering options to be enjoyed by friends and family alike,” said Cardona’s Market Co-Owner and Executive Chef Robert Cardona, Jr. “Our traditional St. Patrick’s Day dinner is sure to delight any holiday gathering and our game-day favorites will fuel college basketball fans during the biggest matchups of the year.”

Cardona’s St. Patrick’s Day special serves six to eight people. Guests can enjoy a delectable menu that includes braised short-rib potato croquettes; cucumber vinaigrette salad; corned beef with cabbage, carrots and salt potatoes; house-made Irish soda bread with herbed butter; and six Bailey’s mousse-filled and Bailey’s buttercream-frosted cupcakes.

The St. Patrick’s Day catering package is available for $150 by pre-order only with a deadline of Saturday, March 15. Individual orders of Irish soda bread and six-packs of Bailey’s cupcakes can be purchased a-la-carte.

A variety of tasty favorites will be available to help fans get into the spirit of the annual college basketball tournament, beginning Sunday, March 16 through Monday, April 7. Orders must be placed by noon the day prior to pick-up.

Highlights of the college hoops menu feature the following:

  • Winning Snack Pack ($200): 24 meatballs in marinara; 12 arancini with marinara; one-half pan of fried mozzarella with marinara; and one-half pan of chicken tenders with dipping sauces.
  • Game Time Pack ($215): An American cold cut platter with 10 hard rolls and a relish platter; one-half pan of fried mozzarella with marinara; one-half tray of arancini with marinara; and a small shrimp cocktail.
  • Pre-Game Pack ($175): Assorted subs for 10 people; one-half pan of arancini with marinara; one-quarter pan of macaroni salad; one-quarter pan of potato salad; and one-quarter pan of antipasti salad.
  • BYO Meatball/Sausage Parm Pack ($115): 18 meatballs; six cooked Italian sausage links with peppers and onions; one quart of marinara sauce; one pint of fresh grated parmesan cheese; one pound of slicing mozzarella; and 12 torpedo rolls.
  • Specialty Chicken Cutlet Sub Platter ($99): An assortment of chicken cutlet subs including Joe’s Special, Fuh-gettabout-It, Cobbee Road, Chicken Bruschetta & Bleu Bison.
  • Specialty Vegetarian Sub Platter ($75): An assortment of eggplant cutlet and vegetarian subs, including Rabe C, Dottie G and the Kailey.

Cardona’s Market is located at 340 Delaware Avenue in Albany; 9 Cobbee Road in Latham; and 222 Washington Street in Saratoga Springs. The Albany and Latham markets are open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the Saratoga market is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. All three locations are open Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
