Kathy is an award-winning veteran journalist with three decades of experience as a reporter and editor for newspapers and radio stations throughout the Capital District. She got her start in print for a weekly newspaper in Malibu, Calif. following a stint working as a chiropractic assistant.
A native of Columbia County (Philmont), Kathy aspired to illustrate cartoons on the West Coast for Disney but didn’t make the cut. Then one day when she walked into the Malibu Times to place an ad for a local chiropractor she observed a reporter at work and had a life-changing epiphany: “I knew at that moment that this was what I was meant to do!”
After two decades of writing for area publications, including the Poughkeepsie Journal, Daily Freeman, Register Star, Daily Mail and The Daily Gazette, and being recognized with two awards of writing distinction for Feature and Business stories from the New York State Publishers’ Association, Kathy turned her focus to Public Relations and Marketing.
In her spare time, Kathy enjoys spending time and hiking with her daughter, Lily, and her Grand-Dog, Luna. She likewise enjoys relaxing with her cats, Katie and Castiel, and her feline nephew, James.
