ADIRONDACK THUNDER SET FOR ANNUAL STICK IT TO CANCER WEEKEND

The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils and Utica Comets, will once again “Stick it to Cancer” on Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29 at Cool Insuring Arena.

The Thunder will battle the Indy Fuel during a pair of weekend contests while sporting special jerseys, which will be auctioned off after Saturday’s game to benefit the C.R. Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital. Doors open at 6 p.m. both nights with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m.

“Stick it to Cancer allows us to come together as a community in honor of those who have faced this insidious disease,” said Adirondack Thunder President Jeff Mead. “It has become one of the most anticipated events on our calendar and allows our players and fans to join together in support of a common and pervasive cause.”

In what has become a time-honored tradition during Stick it to Cancer weekend, fans can paint the ice after Friday’s game to share inspirational messages or honor loved ones with a $10 donation to benefit the C.R. Wood Cancer Center. Paint the Ice is presented by the New York State Dental Foundation, which will hold free oral cancer screenings in the main lobby on Friday.

Saturday evening’s game between the Thunder and Fuel will be played on the painted ice. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will also receive a complimentary t-shirt.
