ADIRONDACK THUNDER SET TO HONOR MEMBERS OF LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT ON MARCH 12

Local sheriff’s deputies will hand out special-edition Law Enforcement Night youth jerseys to the first 1,000 kids in attendance

GLENS FALLS, NY – The Adirondack Thunder, the Capital Region’s professional ice hockey team, will recognize those who protect and serve the community on Saturday, March 12, during its annual Law Enforcement Night at Cool Insuring Arena.

The first 1,000 kids, 14 years of age and under, who attend the game against the Maine Mariners will receive a special-edition Adirondack Thunder youth jersey, courtesy of sheriff’s departments hailing from Warren, Washington, Saratoga and Rensselaer counties. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the puck drop at 7 p.m.

Local sheriff’s deputies will be on hand during the game to greet fans and offer families the opportunity to view various department vehicles on display outside Cool Insuring Arena. During the 2019-20 hockey season, Law Enforcement Night set an attendance record with 5,484 fans passing through the turnstiles.

“The Adirondack Thunder is thrilled to honor those who make daily sacrifices to protect and serve our communities across the North Country and Capital Region,” said Adirondack Thunder President Jeff Mead. “The Thunder’s long-standing partnership with our local sheriff’s departments is incredibly meaningful to us and to the Glens Falls community at large, as demonstrated by the exceptional fan turnout on Law Enforcement Night.”

The Thunder will be wearing special-edition Law Enforcement Night jerseys as they take to the ice to square-off against their North Division rivals. After the completion of Saturday’s contest, fans will have the opportunity to take home one of the limited-edition jerseys during a live auction.

All proceeds from the auction will benefit Special Olympics New York and the New York State Sheriffs’ Summer Camp. Fans interested in bidding should report to Section C following the game’s conclusion.

Sunday afternoon, the Adirondack Thunder will again face the Maine Mariners at 3 p.m. for Kids Day. The game is part of this season’s Family Fun Day “hat trick” package, which includes three reserved seats, three popcorns and three soft drinks for $54.

The Thunder is an affiliate of the National Hockey League’s New Jersey Devils and American Hockey League’s Utica Comets.
