The Adirondack Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils and Utica Comets, is excited to celebrate its connection with its NHL partner club with Affiliate Night on Saturday, Jan. 27. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the puck drops at 7 p.m.
Adirondack will take on the Trois-Rivières Lions (Montreal) in special New Jersey Devil-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off on the DASH app after the game. NJ Devil, New Jersey’s mascot, will join the celebration of the affiliation that started with 2017-18 season.
“Our friends in New Jersey are outstanding partners. We are so appreciative of their support and guidance,” said Adirondack Thunder President Jeff Mead. “We have the kind of strong connection that I think other teams are envious of.”
Saturday’s game highlights a three-game weekend homestand that the Thunder rolls into on an 11-game winning streak which has vaulted them into the ECHL North Division lead with a 27-8-3-1 record (57 points). Poised to make a run at their third division title in franchise history, Adirondack hosts Newfoundland (Toronto) on Friday at 7 p.m. and finishes up with a 3 p.m. start against Norfolk (Winnipeg) on Sunday.
“This is the time of season when we are really seeing what kind of team we are and we are seeing night after night that this is a special collection of players,” Mead said. “It is an exciting time to be an Adirondack Thunder fan.”
Fans can enjoy $3 Labatt Blue Light on Friday and $4 Bud Light beer specials during Saturday’s game presented by Saratoga Eagle.
Fans are also reminded that the Adirondack Hockey Hall of Fame will host its induction ceremony prior to the Thunder’s Feb. 24 game versus Reading. Fans can vote for three nominees at echlthunder.com.
