APPLE BARREL HOME + PANTRÉ CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING AT STUYVESANT PLAZA

Stuyvesant Plaza, the Capital Region’s premier open-air retail destination, today celebrated the grand opening of its newest locally owned and operated small business: Apple Barrel Home + Pantré, a fresh concept inspired by Apple Barrel Store + Café in Schoharie.

The grand opening event featured a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m.; food and beverage provided by Apple Barrel; a free reusable tote bag with purchase; and more.

Similar to its namesake, Apple Barrel Home + Pantré offers signature pantry provisions, alongside a variety of kitchen and dining accessories and home decor. The Stuyvesant Plaza pop-up shop also features Apple Barrel Café to Go, a curated selection of items from the acclaimed café including soups, sauces and handcrafted, pre-made meals.

“We’re very excited to launch our brand-new venture at Stuyvesant Plaza,” said Apple Barrel Group, LLC Chief Operating Officer Joshua Loden-Bray. “Apple Barrel Home + Pantré will offer the Albany area some of the same beloved items and attractions that draw our patrons to Schoharie – like plant/craft + sip classes – as well as experiences distinctive to the new brand. We can’t wait to show you what we have in store.”

“We’re thrilled to welcome the next iteration of Apple Barrel to Stuyvesant Plaza,” said Stuyvesant Plaza General Manager Rachel Ferluge. “Apple Barrel Store + Café is an iconic destination in the Capital Region and will be a great addition to our diverse selection of retailers and restaurants.”

Established as a farm stand in the aftermath of World War II, Apple Barrel was initially a retail outpost for neighboring orchards in Schoharie. The Loden family assumed ownership in 1983, guiding the business through multiple expansions and redevelopments. The renowned specialty retail destination currently attracts 70,000 annual visitors.

Apple Barrel Home + Pantré is located between BARE Blends and The Book House, on the north side of the Plaza.
