Stuyvesant Plaza, the Capital Region’s premier open-air retail destination, today announced the lease renewal and upcoming relocation of BARE Blends, which this year celebrates its sixth year in operation as a small business at the Plaza.
The women-owned, healthy foods store that offers smoothie bowls, salads, fresh juice and more will move to the opposite side of Stuyvesant Plaza in the coming months to fill the suite between Blaze Pizza and The Pottery Place. A grand reopening celebration is planned for early 2025.
“We are thrilled to witness firsthand the continued growth and evolution of BARE Blends both at Stuyvesant Plaza and on a national scale,” said Stuyvesant Plaza General Manager Rachel Ferluge. “Their new location will offer ample room for seating, take-out and delivery services as well as an expanded menu. In addition, the exciting launch of the brand’s new look will originate here with its flagship store.”
Co-founders Annie Berdar and Jessica Fuller collaborated on their innovative culinary concept after Berdar earned degrees in both biochemistry and nutrition. Fuller’s background includes almost two decades of experience in business ownership.
BARE Blends launched in 2018 as a vegan, dairy-free and plant-based eatery at Stuyvesant Plaza within a shared space alongside The Hot Yoga Spot. BARE Blends moved in 2021 to its current location and will soon introduce its newest iteration that will feature expanded offerings, including grain bowls, paninis, breakfast sandwiches and soups. An enhanced look will boast earthy tones with abundant shades of green and blue complemented by fun accent walls.
“It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come since our humble beginnings as a vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free juice bar on the backside of Stuyvesant Plaza,” said Berdar and Fuller. “As a women-owned business, we are proud to have created a space that not only promotes healthy living but also supports eco-friendly practices.
“What started as a small smoothie shop attached to The Hot Yoga Spot has turned into innovative cafes across the country and a movement toward wellness for thousands in our community,” said Fuller. “Our longevity at Stuyvesant Plaza is a testament to the unwavering support and trust in our commitment to quality from both Plaza management and the Capital Region.”
In addition to Stuyvesant Plaza, BARE Blends now has locations in New York, Massachusetts, Colorado and Florida.
