BST & Co. CPAs, LLP, one of the Capital Region’s leading accounting and management consulting firms, today announced promotions within the firm’s Valuation, Forensic and Litigation Support division and its Tax division.
Steven Caiazza has been named senior manager in the Valuation, Forensic and Litigation Support division, Jill Mackey has been named manager in the Tax division and Emma Whitney has been named senior associate in the Tax division.

Caiazza joined BST in 2016 as an analyst upon graduation from the University at Albany. In his role as senior manager of the Valuation, Forensic and Litigation Support division, he is involved with the conduct of valuation studies of privately held business enterprises, professional licenses, advanced academic degrees and stock options for a variety of circumstances, including matrimonial proceedings and litigation. Steve’s area of expertise is in insurance fraud and he is also involved in numerous forensic accounting engagements. Caiazza is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University at Albany where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in the Financial Analyst Honors program. He is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Mackey joined BST in 2022 following its acquisition of O’Connor & O’Connor CPAs. She is a certified public accountant with more than 10 years of experience. Mackey’s focus has been on individual and corporate tax preparation with prior experience in budget analysis and not-for-profit audits. In addition to her client responsibilities, she mentors and trains new tax associates. Mackey earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Master of Science in Accounting from Western New England College. She is a licensed member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Whitney began her career at BST in 2023 as an intern within the Tax division. She works closely with small businesses and enjoys assisting not-for-profit clients. As a senior tax associate, she completes tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, businesses and not-for-profit entities. Whitney also works with interns and new employees, teaching them various skills related to the tax profession and ensuring they are supported at BST. She earned a Master of Science in Accounting from the University at Albany.
