CARDONA’S MARKET DEBUTS “COACH CARM PARM” IN HONOR OF SIENA SAINTS MEN’S BASKETBALL HEAD COACH

Named for Coach Carmen Maciariello, a portion of February sandwich sales will benefit the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York

LATHAM, N.Y. – Cardona’s Market raised the curtain on a craveable new collaboration with Siena Men’s Basketball Head Coach Carmen Maciariello today with the introduction of the “Coach Carm Parm” sandwich – a chicken-and-eggplant sub named in his honor. Maciariello indulged in the ceremonial first bite at an event today at Cardona’s Latham market.

A play on classic comfort food, the Coach Carm Parm layers house-made chicken cutlets, breaded and fried eggplant slices, parmigiana, mozzarella and Cardona’s famous marinara sauce, all stacked high and baked on an Italian sub roll. The Coach Carm Parm will be available at the family-owned Italian market’s Latham and Albany locations.

Over the weekend, the Saints hosted back-to-back food drives at their Men’s and Women’s Basketball games to benefit the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. To support Siena’s continued commitment to fighting hunger in the Capital Region, Cardona’s will donate a portion of sales from the Coach Carm Parm throughout the month of February to the Regional Food Bank.

A Clifton Park native and Siena alumnus, Maciariello has led the Saints to three consecutive winning seasons, including a pair of MAAC Regular Season Championships, since being named head coach in 2019.

“Growing up in the Capital Region, I know the Cardona’s name to be synonymous with quality from both a culinary and community perspective,” said Maciariello. “It’s a personal honor to see the Coach Carm Parm on the menu of this fine Italian specialty market, but it’s also a testament to the incredible team and staff that I get to work with every day. The Coach Carm Parm sandwich is available at Cardona’s Market locations at 340 Delaware Avenue in Albany and 9 Cobbee Road in Latham. The markets are open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
