Cardona’s signature hot table Italian specialties, Boar’s Head meats, Mangiamo’s fresh pasta and more will be featured
LATHAM, N.Y. – Cardona’s Market, a three-generation, family-owned, Italian specialty market and caterer for more than 75 years, is poised to celebrate the one-year anniversary of its Latham location, at 9 Cobbee Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
A cross section of the market’s national and local suppliers will be on site sampling select menu delicacies and beverages. Topping the list are Boar’s Head, DeCrescente Distributing Co., Ace Endico, Pepsi, Mangiamo, Alessi, Greenfield’s Forever Pickles, Healthy Gourmet Soups, NY Sweeties and Nini’s Sicilian Salsa.
“As we mark our first year serving the Latham community, we are humbled by the way we’ve been welcomed and are so encouraged with how we’ve seen demand grow for both our off-site catering and our diverse in-store offerings, including fresh, hand-crafted sandwiches and from scratch Italian dishes using our famous recipes that date back nearly eight decades,” said Cardona’s Market Owner and Executive Chef Robert Cardona. “As a three generation family-owned and operated business, we take pride in sharing our rich family traditions and home-made food with our neighbors in Latham. This anniverary celebration is our way of saying thank you for the reception that we have received this past year.”

- Samples of a one-of-a-kind aromatic dish from Ace Endico prepared by Chef Jerry with ingredients sourced from Cardona’s Latham Market;

The festival of flavors and Italian culinary traditions comes a little more than one year after Cardona’s acquired Roma Foods Importing Company, making it possible for the multi-generational, family-owned business, with its original store at 340 Delaware Avenue in Albany, to expand its reach to Latham.
With this acquisition, Cardona’s also took over Roma’s Saratoga Springs market, which has been operating under the Cardona’s banner since June 2021.
For more than 75 years, Cardona’s Market has provided Capital Region residents with top-quality Italian products, including meats, cheeses, olives, olive oils, vinegars, pastas and other pantry staples. The market features a full selection of fresh-from-the-kitchen dishes, including restaurant-quality grab-and-go meals such as homemade lasagna, eggplant parmesan, sauces and meatballs. Cardona’s also offers a complete menu of hand-crafted sandwiches, artisan salads, aromatic soups and fresh-baked bread. The market’s extensive menu includes Cardona’s signature hot table featuring a daily rotation of more than a dozen classic family dishes and daily and seasonal specials.
Customers also enjoy a full-scale butcher shop offering all-natural beef, chicken and house-made sausage alongside a selection of fresh fish, Oscar’s Smokehouse products and the family’s famous homemade sauces. Additionally, the market offers a full-range of custom catering services for a wide variety of events and celebrations.
Founded by Augusto Cardona in October 1945, Cardona’s recently welcomed its third generation of family owners to carry on its tradition as a regional destination for fine Italian imports and traditional cooking. The new ownership team includes brothers Anthony, August and Robert Cardona, Jr.; alongside long time friends and Capital Region natives T.J. Conti and Kevin Garry.
Current hours for the Cardona’s Market locations in Latham and Albany are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Saratoga Springs location is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. All three locations are open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
