Capital Region franchisees pay it forward by delivering Dunkin’ Sunrise Batch Coffee and donuts to 30 Capital Region fire departments
ALBANY, NY– Dunkin’ today delivered $7,500 in gift cards, 420 donuts and more than 30 gallons of coffee to Capital Region firefighters in recognition of “Pay it Forward Day,” a global celebration that encourages people to perform random acts of kindness and spread goodwill throughout the community.
Over the course of the day, Dunkin’ paid it forward by surprising a total of 30 local fire departments in Albany, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga and Schenectady counties with gift cards, baked goods and Dunkin’s new Sunrise Batch coffee. Sunrise Batch is the newest hot coffee in the brand’s Limited Batch Series, which is a medium roast featuring notes of cocoa, tangy sweetness, and toasted nuts.
“Our local first responders have been critical to the health and wellness of our communities this past year,” said Eric Stensland, Field Marketing Manager for Dunkin’. “Today’s delivery is designed to pay it forward to our local firefighters as we express our appreciation for everything they do. Dunkin’ encourages all of our valued guests to celebrate ‘Pay it Forward Day’ by performing a random act of kindness.”
A special delivery was made to Albany Fire Department Headquarters, where Dunkin’ met with Fire Chief Joseph Gregory. Baked goods, Dunkin’ Sunrise Blend coffee and gift cards were handed out to headquarters staff and will also be distributed to firefighters at several fire houses within the city.
“The Albany Fire Department truly appreciates Dunkin’s generosity and recognition shown to our firefighters today on “Pay it Forward Day,” said Albany Fire Department Chief Joseph Gregory. “Our Department always enjoys teaming up with organizations in our community to help spread such an important and meaningful message as paying it forward. It is something the members of the Albany Fire Department strive to do each and every day with the care they provide the citizens of Albany.”
“Pay it Forward Day” began in 2007 as a way to inspire individuals to spread kindness around the globe. On “Pay it Forward Day,” people are encouraged to do something nice for another person and embrace the power of giving.
Today’s deliveries are the latest initiative in an ongoing effort by Dunkin’ to support frontline employees and volunteers during the Covid-19 pandemic. Since March 2020, Dunkin’ has donated thousands of baked goods, pounds of coffee and gift cards to first responders, nurses, frontline workers and volunteer staff.
