ALBANY, NY; August 21, 2017 – Dunkin’ Donuts today announced that the annual “Cops on Top” initiative, which was held at a dozen restaurant locations throughout the Capital Region on Friday, Aug. 18, raised over $15,000 for Special Olympics New York – marking a record for the annual event.
The donation, which was generated through community contributions, is the largest amount raised from the one-day event to date and will support Special Olympics New York programs for Capital Region families. The initiative has now raised more than $30,000 since its inception in 2015
During the event, community members were invited to visit participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the Capital Region to attend the sit-in to support the officers, visit with Special Olympics athletes and their families, and make donations to Special Olympics New York. Dunkin’ Donuts provided guests a coupon for a free doughnut as a thank you when guests made a monetary donation to the organization.
