Dunkin’ continues to celebrate Canton’s newly-renovated restaurant with more than $2,800 in donations to support Renewal House
CANTON, NY; – The Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation and the local Dunkin’ franchisee network, White Management Corporation, today recognized Renewal House of St. Lawrence County by donating $2,840 in celebration of the newly remodeled Dunkin’ restaurant at 103 East Main Street in Canton, NY.
Dunkin’s donations to Renewal House of St. Lawrence County – a domestic violence and sexual assault agency – were highlighted by $1,420 raised through numerous charitable campaigns conducted during the grand re-opening celebration on February 5. That donation was later matched by Dunkin’s Joy in Childhood Foundation, bringing the grand total in donations to Renewal House to $2,840.
“One thing we love in our business is connecting with, and supporting, the local community. Renewal House of St. Lawrence County is a vital program in the area,” said Brian White, Dunkin’ franchisee and President of White Management Corporation, a privately-held restaurant group in upstate New York founded by his father, David White. “We feel privileged to have partnered with Renewal House on our grand re-opening, and are also grateful to Dunkin’s Joy in Childhood Foundation for their ability to double our donation.”
The newly remodeled Dunkin’ restaurant celebrated the grand re-opening by donating 20 percent of all sales on February 5 to Renewal House. The location also hosted a “Donate for Donuts” campaign and travel mug promotion to raise money and support the efforts of Renewal House.
As St. Lawrence County’s domestic violence and sexual assault agency, Renewal House provides a variety of services supporting victims and survivors including: 24-hour crisis intervention; peer to peer counseling; and personal and legal advocacy. Renewal House also has a campus advocate on all four college campuses throughout the county and manages the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner program.
“Thank you to Dunkin, our community and the Joy in Childhood Foundation for supporting domestic violence victims in St. Lawrence County,” said Renewal House of St. Lawrence County Executive Director Ilene Burke. “With your donations, we will assist up to 30 families with food and grocery cards, when in need.”
The newly renovated Dunkin’, located in a Mountain Mart convenience store, employs approximately 15 crew members led by longtime store manager Sue Harrison. The Canton location features Dunkin’s new restaurant design with a modern atmosphere, innovative technologies and exciting elements.
