Dunkin’ Restaurant in Kew Gardens Hills commemorates grand reopening with donations to Tomchei Shabbos of Queens and Queens Hatzolah

Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’s newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 79-27 Main Street in the Queens neighborhood of Kew Gardens Hills on Thursday, December 12 as part of its grand reopening ceremony.

Dunkin’ franchisee Scott Campbell commemorated the occasion with a pair of donations to local community organizations. Tomchei Shabbos of Queens received $6,000, in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation, and Queens Hatzolah received $3,000.

For more than 30 years, Tomchei Shabbos of Queens has provided food packages on a weekly basis to families and individuals in need.

“We’re thrilled that Dunkin’ is recognizing local charities like Tomchei Shabbos, which provides food for 2,000 people a week,” said Tomchei Shabbos President Shimi Pelman. “We thank Scott Campbell and the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation very much for their generous support.”

Queens Hatzolah, founded in 1978, maintains a fleet of 13 ambulances for volunteer EMTs and paramedics to serve thousands of residents, responding to more than 7,000 calls annually.

“We would like to thank Scott Campbell and Dunkin’ for this generous contribution to Hatzolah of Queens and Great Neck,” said Queens Hatzolah member Shiu Reichmann. “Your supporting our holy work of saving lives is the highest gesture of giving back. We look forward to enjoying this great establishment for years to come.”

New York State Senator Leroy Comrie, New York State Assemblyman Sam Berger, and representatives from the Vaad Harabonim of Queens joined the celebration and participated in a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The morning featured dozens of guests in line at 9 a.m. receiving Free Coffee for a Year, while many others spun the Dunkin’ prize wheel for free Dunkin’ merchandise.

The 1,850-square-foot Dunkin’ employs 35 crew members and is open daily from 5 a.m. until 10 p.m.
