Dunkin’ restaurant in Queens commemorates grand reopening with donation to WORC Force Center

Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’s newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 218-16 Jamaica Ave. in Queens Village on Thursday, August 8 as part of its grand reopening ceremony.

Dunkin’ franchisee Scott Campbell of Metro Franchising commemorated the occasion with a $2,500 donation to the WORC Force Center. The WORC Force Center is a nonprofit that provides individuals with special needs and other under-served populations the tools and resources to succeed by offering several life skills programs.

“We are very appreciative of this generous donation and to have been a part of the latest Dunkin’ reopening for Metro Franchising,” said WORC Force Capital Campaign Vice President Tina Moreno. “WORC Force is a brand-new endeavor launched on the heels of Life’s WORC, which was founded 53 years ago. It was created to provide a purposeful life for the individuals that we support, and this gift will help to further our efforts to help those with special needs gain important life skills.”

The celebration also included members of the New York Police Department’s 105th Precinct, members of the New York City Fire Department’s Engine 304, representatives from the office of New York State Senator Leroy Comrie, and staff from the Queens Chamber of Commerce, who joined Dunkin’ representatives for a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The morning featured all guests receiving a free medium hot or iced coffee and a donut, while many other Dunkin’ Rewards members spun the Dunkin’ prize wheel for free Dunkin’ merchandise.
