ALBANY, NY – Stuyvesant Plaza today announced that Felthousen’s Florist and Greenhouse has opened a new location at the outdoor lifestyle shopping center. The new store marks the third Capital Region location for the family-owned florist.
The 1,700 square-foot shop offers an array of custom floral arrangements, as well as a wide range of fresh-cut, silk and permanent flowers; plants; cards; chocolates and gift items. The family-owned business will hire approximately four full and part-time employees at the new location.
Felthousen’s Florist and Greenhouse takes over the space formerly occupied by Emil J. Nagengast Florist. After 25 years at Stuyvesant Plaza, Emil J. Nagengast Florist is consolidating its operations and will continue to service the Capital Region from its flagship location on the corner of Ontario and Benson Streets in downtown Albany.
“We are excited to welcome Felthousen’s Florist and Greenhouse to Stuyvesant Plaza, where they will provide beautiful flower arrangements and gift items for our many shoppers,” said Stuyvesant Plaza Vice President of Real Estate Janet Kaplan. “We thank Emil J. Nagengast Florist for their decades of service to our shoppers and are thrilled to bring another family-owned florist to the Plaza.”
Felthousen’s Florist and Greenhouse first opened in 1913 and is currently operated by three generations of Felthousen family members. In addition to the new Stuyvesant Plaza location, Felthousen’s Florist and Greenhouse will continue to serve customers from its locations in Niskayuna and Cohoes.
“We are honored to carry on the tradition of excellence that Emil J. Nagengast established at Stuyvesant Plaza,” said Felthousen’s Florist and Greenhouse Owner and Vice President Mark Felthousen. “We look forward to celebrating the special moments of new and returning customers alike.”
