SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -Handle figures reflect a strong first half of the 2015 Saratoga meet, according to statistics released today by the New York Racing Association.
For the first 20 days of live racing at Saratoga Race Course ending Sunday, August 16, on-track handle on NYRA races is up 14.8 percent and total handle is up 17.6 percent over 2014 figures. Field size is also up 9.2 percent over last year.
Overall, $319,814,639 has been wagered on NYRA races through the first half of the Saratoga meet, compared to $272,034,037 in 2014; an increase of nearly $47.8 million.
