SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY; August 22, 2018 – Hall of Fame jockeys John Velazquez and Javier Castellano made a special appearance today at the South Broadway Dunkin’ Donuts in Saratoga Springs, NY, in celebration of Travers Day at Saratoga Race Course on Saturday, August 25.
The special appearance came just three days before the marquee race of the summer season – the Grade 1, $1.25 million Runhappy Travers, which will feature the nation’s top 3-year-old horses.
The jockeys surprised guests as they filled orders at the register and drive-thru at the Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant in Saratoga Springs. Guests visiting the Saratoga Springs restaurant today were also treated with grandstand admission tickets to Travers Day at Saratoga Race Course, courtesy of Dunkin’ Donuts.
Travers Day general admission tickets are available for $10 when purchased in advance at the Saratoga Race Course Box Office or online at Ticketmaster.com. Grandstand admission will be available for $15 at the gate on Travers Day. Gates open at 7 a.m. on Travers Day. First post time is 11:35 a.m.
In addition to serving as the sponsor of the early and late Daily Double at Saratoga Race Course, Dunkin’ Donuts will also donate one pound of coffee to the Backstretch Employee Service Team for each win by the leading owner, trainer and jockey of the 2018 season. The donation will take place at Saratoga Race Course on Monday, September 3.
