SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) will offer fans the opportunity to give an animal its forever home during a Dog Adoption Clinic at Saratoga Race Course on Friday, August 30 from noon to 4 p.m.
The clinic, which is hosted in partnership with News 10 ABC and Pet Connection with Steve Caporizzo, will be held in the backyard near the Big Red Spring.
Participating animal shelters and rescue groups include: Companion Animal Placement Program; German Shepherd Rescue of NY; Greyt Companions; and Saratoga County Animal Shelter.
“It is an honor to participate in the first ever Dog Adoption Clinic at Saratoga Race Course. The race course is a wonderful venue to showcase some of our amazing dogs that are looking for their forever homes and to promote the wide variety of activities that the Saratoga County Animal Shelter participates in,” said Saratoga County Animal Shelter Public Relations Coordinator Karlianna Russell. “Thank you to the New York Racing Association for including us in this event and we look forward to an exciting day.”
“We look forward to bringing our German Shepherds to Saratoga Race Course where they will meet potential new families,” said German Shepherd Rescue of NY Founder and Director Eileen LaBarge. “We appreciate the opportunity to gain exposure before a large-scale audience for these animals, which make such great companions.”
“We are excited to host our first canine adoption event at Saratoga Race Course,” said NYRA Executive Vice President Gordon Lavalette. “We thank News 10’s Pet Connection and its partner organizations for being a part of this initiative and encourage fans who are considering welcoming a dog into their home to join us at the clinic.”
