Teams to meet Saturday at the ARC in rivalry presented by Stuyvesant Plaza
LOUDONVILLE, NY – Capital Region rivals Siena and UAlbany Women’s Basketball are set to renew acquaintances when the Saints host the Great Danes Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Alumni Recreation Center in the Crosstown Showdown presented by Stuyvesant Plaza.
The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a FREE Siena rally towel, and fans who follow the game’s presenting sponsor Stuyvesant Plaza on Facebook will be automatically entered for a chance to win a four-pack of tickets to the game. As the presenting sponsor of the game, representatives from Stuyvesant Plaza will present the trophy to the winning team of this year’s Crosstown Showdown. Stuyvesant Plaza will also serve as the presenting sponsor of the 2020 matchup, which is slated to be held at UAlbany next season.
“The Crosstown Showdown brings together the region’s top two women’s college basketball programs to Siena for an exciting matchup that fans won’t want to miss,” said Siena College Vice President and Director of Athletics John D’Argenio. “We are excited to welcome Stuyvesant Plaza as the presenting sponsor, and thank them for their support.”
“Stuyvesant Plaza and Ed Swyer have been great supporters of UAlbany Athletics and we are pleased they have agreed to sponsor our women’s basketball series with Siena,” said University at Albany Director of Athletics Mark Benson.
A very limited amount of tickets remain for Saturday’s Crosstown Showdown presented by Stuyvesant Plaza, and can be purchased in advance online at sienasaints.com/tickets or by contacting the Siena Fan Relations Management Center by phone at (518) 487-2202 or by e-mail at [email protected] (while supplies last). Alumni Recreation Center capacity is set at 2,148.
“Stuyvesant Plaza is proud to be associated with this game and series that brings together some of the Albany area’s top student athletes,” said Stuyvesant Plaza Vice President of Real Estate Janet Kaplan. “We’re thrilled to be a part of the renewal of this rivalry between Siena College and the University at Albany, and look forward to the Crosstown Showdown on Dec. 7 as well as next year’s game between the two schools.”
