Stuyvesant Plaza, the Capital Region’s premier open-air shopping and dining destination, is celebrating the grand opening of holiday pop-up shop The Balloonary. The local women-owned business, featuring gifts, party supplies, balloon décor and more, will be located between Lola Saratoga and Warby Parker through the holiday season.
A welcome party was held on Friday, Nov. 8 from noon to 4 p.m. featuring food, beverages and live music from DJ Trumaster. To keep the party going all weekend long, guests who spent $50 or more through Sunday, Nov. 10 were entered for a chance to win a $100 gift card to The Balloonary.
“We are thrilled to welcome The Balloonary to Stuyvesant Plaza for the holidays,” said Stuyvesant Plaza General Manager Rachel Ferluge. “The shop’s special focus on balloon décor for celebrations and gifts of all shapes and sizes will be a wonderful addition to the Plaza during the season of giving. We invite shoppers in search of the perfect gifts for family and friends to explore The Balloonary’s joyful and expansive selection.”
The Balloonary is co-owned by Nina Young and Stephanie Turcotte, whose flagship store debuted in Albany in 2022. The Stuyvesant Plaza pop-up shop, the duo’s second location, will feature an assortment of stationary, holiday gear, hosting gifts such as unique glassware and fun pantry items, celebration essentials and a gift-wrapping area.
“We are excited to celebrate the holiday season at Stuyvesant Plaza and to offer guests a variety of one-of-a-kind finds and colorful balloon installations,” said Turcotte. “This is a tremendous opportunity for us to join the Plaza’s curated mix of eateries and shops through the holiday season.”
