Limited spots remain for basketball, ice hockey, figure skating and beach volleyball clinics at the Times Union Center in conjunction with inaugural all-women’s sports and entertainment festival
ALBANY, N.Y. – Aurora Games organizers today encouraged fans interested in taking part in the exclusive and intimate sports clinics led by all-star athletes, legends and coaches to act now to secure their spot.
The clinics, which offer fans and athletes the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and learn from among the greatest athletes in their respective sports, will take place in conjunction with the Aurora Games, the inaugural all-women’s sports and entertainment festival to be held at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY on August 20-25, 2019.
The gymnastics and tennis clinics are sold out. Limited spots remain for the basketball clinic on Thursday, Aug. 22 at noon; the ice hockey clinic on Friday, Aug. 23 at noon; the figure skating clinic on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 10 a.m.; and the beach volleyball clinic on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 9 a.m. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com.
“I know I speak for many of the athletes when I say that being part of these clinics, where we have the chance to get to know the fans and work closely with kids, provides an important opportunity for us to give back to the sport,” said two-time Olympic medalist and Aurora Games Advisory Board member Nancy Kerrigan, who will be part of the figure skating clinic. “The clinics at the Aurora Games will offer fans a truly unique experience to learn from some of the world’s greatest professional athletes in an intimate setting.”
Each clinic runs for approximately one hour and will take place at the Times Union Center. All clinic attendees will have the opportunity for photos and autographs with the star athletes. Participants must bring their own gear and will have access to the locker room facilities at the Times Union Center. All clinic ticket holders will have the option to remain in the arena to watch practices following the clinic. Participants ages 16 and under can be accompanied by an adult.
More than 175 professional, world-class athletes are expected to compete under the banners of Team Americas and Team World in the Aurora Games. The six-day festival will feature ice hockey, gymnastics, figure skating, basketball and beach volleyball, as well as a world-class exhibition in table tennis.
