The Wesley Community, a 37-acre senior living campus with more than 700 residents in Saratoga Springs, will host a job fair on Thursday, Jan. 23 as part of an accelerated recruitment initiative.
The in-house hiring event will be conducted from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Embury Café on the Wesley campus at 133 Lawrence Street in Saratoga Springs and will feature on-the-spot interviews. Interested candidates for any position can also reserve an interview on Indeed in advance of the job fair.
Vacancies currently exist for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Registered Nurses (RNs), RN Supervisors, Per Diem receptionists, Food Service workers and Wait Staff. Wesley recently implemented pay-rate increases for RNs and LPNs.
“Staffing shortages continue to plague all facets of the healthcare industry, including senior communities. As a result, we are actively recruiting for a variety of positions to begin the new year,” said J. Brian Nealon, CEO of The Wesley Community. “We believe that Wesley offers a nurturing and positive work environment that is unmatched by other senior communities in the area. Our in-house job fair gives applicants an opportunity to meet us in person and experience the community first-hand.”
The healthcare industry is responsible for as much as 14% of the nation’s overall employment. That number is expected to increase to 24% by 2033, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau. Similarly, the Administration on Aging predicts that the demand for long-term healthcare services will continue to grow in the U.S. in tandem with its aging population.
Wesley is also currently seeking applicants for its Certified Nursing Assistant training classes. This is a five-week, paid program. The next session begins Monday, Jan. 20. Upcoming sessions include classes that begin March 10, April 28, June 16, Aug. 4, Sept. 22 and Nov. 10. Interested candidates may apply on Wesley’s website.
