Open house at independent and enriched senior living apartments to be held on Friday, September 16
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Wesley Community, a leading provider in housing and services for seniors and those requiring all levels of care, will showcase a series of enhancements and upgrades to its highly-regarded independent and enriched living apartments during an open house at Woodlawn Commons on Friday, September 16 from 2 to 6 p.m.
The renovations to the senior living community refresh a number of the shared areas at Woodlawn Commons and are designed to further enhance the quality of life for residents in the enriched and independent living programs at The Wesley Community.
During the open house, prospective residents and their families are invited to meet the staff and current residents, tour the tasteful apartments and common areas, and learn more about life at Woodlawn Commons.
“We are excited about the impact these upgrades will have on the lives of the seniors who enjoy the amenity-rich lifestyle available to them at Woodlawn Commons. These beautiful and efficient apartments provide a gracious and homelike community in the heart of Saratoga Springs,” said Brian Nealon, CEO of The Wesley Community. “We encourage seniors and their families to join us at the open house to experience life at Woodlawn Commons.”
The renovations to Woodlawn Commons refresh the public areas on the first and second floors of the Barrett Community Center, including upgrades to the great room, living room and library. Enhancements include new furnishings, décor, paint, carpeting, window treatments and lighting fixtures offering a modern feel.
The project also provided enhancements to areas dedicated to resident activities, including the arts and crafts room, country store, wellness room and beauty salon. Additionally, Georgia’s Restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, now features a new efficient wait staff station and an updated private dining room for intimate gatherings.
Woodlawn Commons provides two distinct senior living options: independent and enriched apartments. Residents in the independent living program enjoy an experience similar to their private home, but with added amenities and no home maintenance responsibilities.
The enriched living program offer residents the comforts of home combined with the support and services provided by the staff at Woodlawn Commons. Residents in the enriched living program enjoy three prepared meals a day, housekeeping and laundry services, scheduled transportation, medication assistance, enhanced security and additional care determined by their individual needs.
In addition to the apartments and common areas, Woodlawn Commons also features spacious outdoor patios and areas to socialize that include fireplaces. Visitors at the open house will learn about the many social, cultural, educational, and exercise programs organized by Woodlawn Commons’ staff to meet the physical, social, and spiritual needs of each resident.
In addition to enriched and independent living at Woodlawn Commons, visitors to the open house will be able to learn more about the other levels of care provided by The Wesley Community, including long-term care, outpatient therapies, short-term rehabilitation, and Wesley Evergreen Adult Day Services, a comprehensive supervised day program for seniors.
Light refreshments will be provided at the open house. Woodlawn Commons is located on The Wesley Community campus at 156 Lawrence Street in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. For further information or directions, please call 518-691-1560.
