Proceeds from event to benefit The Wesley Community
The Adirondack Trust Company donates $10,500 to support special events at The Wesley Community in 2016
Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – The Wesley Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Wesley Community in Saratoga Springs, will host the 2016 edition of its annual gala at the Saratoga Golf and Polo Club, 301 Church Street, on Saturday, May 21 from 6 to 10 p.m.
The theme of this year’s event is “’70s Style,” which will invite attendees to enjoy a fun evening filled with the culture and music of the 1970s.
Proceeds from the evening will support the renovation of the Springs residence at The Wesley Health Care Center. The residence caters to aging seniors who may have significant, chronic medical needs requiring daily assistance. Renovations will create a more home-like atmosphere for the residents.
“This event will be a fun, festive night to support a wonderful cause. I know from the renovations I have seen firsthand that these funds are making a difference for the residents of the Springs building at Wesley Health Care Center,” said Michael Okby, who along with his wife Marlene, are this year’s Honorary Chairs of the gala.
The presenting sponsor of the 2016 annual gala is The Adirondack Trust Company, which recently presented a $10,500 donation to The Wesley Foundation to support its 2016 special events, which will assist in funding the continuing renovations at the Springs residence.
“We are very pleased to support the Wesley Community with this donation,” said Charles V. Wait, Jr., Executive Vice President of The Adirondack Trust Company. “The whole team at The Wesley Community is an outstanding example of an organization that helps the residents of our community. We are excited to be a part of their effort to raise funds for the Springs building renovation through supporting their 2016 events.”
Guests at the gala will enjoy delicious food from Chef John Ireland, fondue stations, a sundae bar featuring ice cream from Ben and Jerry’s of Saratoga, and a cash bar. The event will also feature music by The Refrigerators, décor from Fine Affairs, a silent auction, and photos with fun backdrops by TapSnap, in addition to other activities. Attendees are encouraged to wear cocktail attire or 1970s-themed attire.
Tickets for the annual gala are available for $125 per person or $200 per couple. Reservations can be made by phone at 518-691-1420 or online at www.thewesleycommunity.org/gala.
Additional major sponsors of the gala are AOW Associates, Inc., Marshall & Sterling Insurance, The Fort Miller Group, Inc., Saratoga Casino and Raceway, The Saratogian, Fine Affairs, and Ray Martin/Crescent Hill Partners, LLC. The gala committee co-chairs are Joanne Kirkpatrick and Timothy Busch.
