Saratoga Springs, N.Y.– The Wesley Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Wesley Community in Saratoga Springs, will host its annual gala at the Saratoga Golf and Polo Club on Saturday, May 19 from 6 to 10 p.m.

The theme of this year’s event is “An Evening In Spain” and will invite attendees to enjoy a night filled with the style, culture and cuisine of the eponymous country. Guests are welcome to dress in cocktail or Spanish-inspired attire.

Guests will enjoy food from Chef John Ireland, a complimentary Sangria bar, and a cash bar. The event will also include music by The Accents, décor from Fine Affairs, a silent auction, and a Spanish-inspired photo booth, in addition to other activities.

“The Wesley Community takes pride in the high level of care we provide to our residents and we look forward to welcoming the Capital Region to our annual gala,” said Brian Nealon, CEO of The Wesley Community. “This exciting social event will provide valuable funding to improve the lives of those living on our campus. We are excited to renovate our activities space at the Wesley Health Care Center and continue to serve the seniors of this community

Proceeds from the gala will support the renovation of the Resident Activities Room at the Wesley Health Care Center. The residence caters to aging adults who may have significant, chronic medical needs requiring daily assistance. The Resident Activities Room serves as a social hub for these residents, and provides a venue for performances, religious services and other social gatherings.

“The annual gala will be a cultural celebration that will help raise funds to support a phenomenal cause. The money raised during this event will make a major difference for all the seniors who continually look forward to the great activities that the Wesley Health Care Center has to offer,” said Jim LaVigne, honorary chair of this year’s gala alongside his wife, Mary Gavin.

“The Wesley Foundation continuously helps the many aging adults who depend on the quality services available at the Wesley Health Care Center,” said Gavin. “We look forward to welcoming the community to this special evening which will allow the foundation to further bolster the quality of life for residents on campus.”

The presenting sponsor of this year’s gala is the Adirondack Trust Company, which recently presented a $10,500 donation to The Wesley Foundation in support of its 2018 special events, all of which are dedicated to raising funds for the renovation of the Resident Activities Room.

“We are honored to support The Wesley Community and their dedicated efforts to raise funds to enrich the lives of aging adults and their families,” said the Adirondack Trust Company Executive Vice President Charles V. Wait, Jr. “The Resident Activities Room is a tremendous space which allows those on campus to socialize with others and enjoy a wide range of weekly activities. The Wesley Community is an outstanding example of an organization that helps those in our community go above and beyond and we are thrilled to serve as the primary sponsor for this year’s gala.”

Additional major sponsors for the gala are Marshall & Sterling Insurance, Jim LaVigne and Mary Gavin, and Angerame Architects. Other sponsors include AOW Associates, Inc., Crescent Hill Partners/Ray Martin, Fine Affairs and The Fort Miller Group, Inc. The gala committee chair is Wesley Foundation Board Member Timothy Busch.

“This event will be a fantastic evening to support a worthwhile cause,” Busch said. “I’m honored to once again help organize an event which will have a direct impact on the quality of life of Wesley’s residents.”

The gala committee also includes Alicia Butler, Eliza Bianco, Kelly Boucher, Stevie Church, Geriann Eddy, Mollie Flynn, Joanne Kirkpatrick, Megan Lanzetta, Judy LeCain, Charlotte Mosso, Niki Rossi, Lorrie Shilling, Kimberlee Williams, and MacKenzie Zarzycki.
