Albany, N.Y.; – Executives and financial professionals from throughout the not-for-profit industry came together to discuss the latest on accounting, tax and cybersecurity as it pertains to the not-for-profit industry, during UHY LLP’s return of its popular “Not-For-Profit Update” seminar at the Albany Institute of History & Art on Wednesday, November 2.
Representatives from health and human services, education, arts and culture, foundations, trade associations, government agencies and other sectors of the not-for-profit industry made up the capacity crowd. The free event included breakfast, presentations, CPE credits, and an interactive question-and-answer session with tax, accounting, and cybersecurity experts serving not-for-profit organizations.

Foote kicked off the presentation with opening remarks at the “Not-For-Profit Update” followed by presentations from Audit Partner Alex Zhang, Tax Partner Jim Daniels, and Principal Laurie Shen. Topics covered during the seminar included: industry developments and risk alerts; significant changes to not-for-profit financial reporting; tax update and planning for 2017; cybersecurity risks impacting not-for-profits; and other best practices and developments.
