Dunkin’ delivers coffee and donut-themed dog toys, leashes and gift cards to support animals and volunteers at Rochester Animal Services

ROCHESTER, NY –Western New York Dunkin’ franchisees today celebrated National Dog Day by delivering dozens of Dunkin’-themed dog toys and leashes to Verona Street Animal Society, the non-profit organization which supports Rochester Animal Services, in Rochester, NY.

Dunkin’ also delivered gift cards to support more than 150 shelter volunteers who care for the animals around the clock in preparation for finding their forever home. The Verona Street Animal Society supports Rochester Animal Services by providing critical resources, including fundraising and marketing support, to help enhance care, programs, and services for the dogs and other animals in the community.

“We are happy to celebrate National Dog Day and man’s best friend by delivering dozens of Dunkin’-themed dog toys to Verona Street Animal Society,” said Dunkin’ Field Marketing Manager Eric Stensland. “Dogs bring us all so much joy and we are honored to celebrate these precious companions and the many wonderful volunteers who keep our local animal shelters running.”

“We are so grateful to be able to celebrate National Dog Day today with these special treats from Dunkin’ for both the pets and humans,” said Verona Street Animal Society Executive Director Mary Jones. “Verona Street Animal Society is a non-profit organization funded entirely from private donations from the Rochester community. We provide much needed resources, including fundraising and marketing, to Rochester Animal Services to enable them to more effectively serve the pets, and people who love them. Partnerships and support, like today from Dunkin, help us do more for the animals in our community.”

Rochester Animal Services currently has approximately 40 dogs available for adoption at this time and is waiving all adoption fees through September 22, 2021. Those interested in adopting an animal at the shelter can visit www.vsas.org/adopt to view pet profiles and submit an application.

The special delivery included nearly 50 Dunkin’-themed dog toys, including a treat-dispensing Dunkin’ coffee cup and a Dunkin’ donut and bag, which are part of a second collaboration between the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation and The Original BARK Company (NYSE: BARK) (“BARK”).

The toys are currently available in participating Dunkin’ restaurants as a thank you to guests who make a donation to the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. For a $12 donation, guests will receive the plush Dunkin’ coffee cup dog toy and for a $15 donation, guests will receive the donut and bag toy.

In celebration of National Dog Day on August 26, dog parents can also get these limited-edition toys through BARKShop.com, and BarkBox and Super Chewer subscribers can get their paws on the toys as add-ons to their monthly box through Add-to-Box.

When Dunkin’ fans grab a BARK toy for their pup, they will be supporting the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation’s mission to bring joy to kids battling hunger or illness. Each BARK toy is available only by making a donation to the Foundation to help bring joy to kids who need it most, and while supplies last.

Last year’s BARK and Dunkin’ collaboration raised more than $1.8 million for Foundation programs like Dogs for Joy, introduced in 2018 to bring full-time service dogs to children’s hospitals. The dogs bring joy, ease anxiety, and reduce stress for kids battling illness and their families. To date, the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation has funded 26 service dogs at 15 hospitals, impacting hundreds of thousands of young patients.

The Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation’s mission is to provide the simple joys of childhood to kids battling hunger or illness. It has granted more than $30 million since its inception in 2006 and will grant $7 million this year.
